Challenges

Our challenge was to scour the internet and employ non-traditional methods to discover a talented, up-and-coming singer. We had to utilize social media platforms to uncover undiscovered artists with the potential to become a generational talent.

Outcome

Our social media-driven competition resulted in a highly successful outcome. Our show consistently trended as the number one rated program week over week, and we have seen multiple high-selling artists emerge as a result.
 
Notably, three to four artists have achieved significant commercial success with their records

PHASE 01- STRATEGY & APPROACH

Developing the Strategy

We recognized the decline in traditional television viewership and sought to revitalize the excitement of tuning in to a weekly show. Leveraging our expertise in talent discovery, we identified an untapped opportunity in the realm of social media casting. This innovative approach had yet to be explored, and we were determined to lead the charge in this new frontier.

Defining the Brand

"The Four" is a unique singing competition show that starts with a select group of four contestants chosen by a panel of judges, Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor and Charlie Walk. As the show progresses, other aspiring artists have the chance to audition and challenge one of the Four for a spot on the show. The winner will receive a recording contract and mentorship from the judges. We sought out to make this show different from other talent based tv shows. Not only with the casting but with the format. This format creates a high-stakes competition that keeps the audience engaged as the Four must defend their spots and the judges must select the best talent to represent them.

Understanding the Customer

In our efforts to understand our audience, we identified that we had a diverse viewership. Through conducting case studies, we gained valuable insights on what types of content and programming our audience desired in the future.

Positioning

Our positioning strategy was centered around understanding the current landscape of television and finding ways to navigate it effectively, even at a time when traditional television viewership was declining.
